Today I am linking up with The Vintage Modern Wife and The Luckiest in Love for Pinspired Style. I'm literally addicted to Pinterest - it's a plethora of gorgeous inspiration, and I have pinned bundles upon bundles of fabulous things. Living in Dallas is always an assortment of uncertain weather, so I've been trying to merge my Summer Pinterest Board and my Fall Pinterest Board to create an outfit suitable for Dallas Days. The outfit I chose for Pinspired Style is one of my new favorites - a pair of colorful purple denim pants paired with my favorite gingham button down, inspired by Emily Schuman's look over on Cupcakes and Cashmere. I loved how she paired her pastel purple pants with neutral polka dots - I immediately pinned the look and put my own little spin on it. It's perfect for the summer/fall transition and super comfortable for walking around downtown! Thanks for letting me link up ladies! xoxo SHIRT: J-Crew, PURPLE DENIM: H&M, MESSENGER BAG: gifted (very similar here), SUNGLASSES: Kate Spade, SHOES: Gianni Bini (via: Dillard's) RING: gifted from Spain
For my birthday Mark bought me a Nikon D5100 and a new tripod. Since it was such a lovely weekend (minus the rain) I thought I would go outside and test out my tripod. It definitely wasn't as easy as I had anticipated, and at first it looked like I was standing in front of a green screen with my apartment superimposed, but after a couple of tries I was able to capture a couple of photos.
xoxo I had a great time at the Dallas Flea! So many oh-so-wonderful Dallas vendors in one place! Within ten minutes of entering the flea market my Christmas wish list grew - talk about feeling like a kid in a candy store! There was literally so many beyond amazing and unique goodies, it took all my might to restrain myself (and my wallet). I went with a group of my girlfriends, and we all left with some fabulous Dallas Flea finds! Below is a small collection of my favorite flea vendors: Back Alley Furniture - they take various styles of furniture and update them with a cool modern feel, and I have three chairs that are in need of some Back Alley lovin'. Can't wait to work with them! GAIA Creations - I had the privilege of soaking in some beyond beautiful creations from GAIA. Everything is handmade with care by women in need in the Dallas area, using vintage, repurposed, or sustainable materials. Love being able to give back to my community. Gemelli - offering up a lovely lineup of jewelry inspired by nature. Owner, Claire Morgan, was so much fun to talk to and is behind all of the glittery gemstone goodness. I thoroughly enjoyed her color popping stackable bracelets. She even had a few with the little stone skulls - completely reminiscent of Day of The Dead celebrations. The Urban Cottage - Seriously the cutest Airstream I've ever encountered. Filled with repurposed, refinished, and revamped vintage furniture - I desperately wanted to purchase a vintage flat file cart but have nowhere in my little home to put it. Dowdy Studio - There is nothing quite like shopping in a mobile shop! I spent most of my time in this super fabulous wagon lingering over their silk-screened tees, prints, and jewelry. I think I would be quite happy owning every single silk-screened tee. Be sure to also check out F. is for Frank, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, and Sew Caroline!! So happy to have been introduced to all these fantastic Dallas vendors! Save the date for the third anniversary celebration of The Dallas Flea, Saturday, December 1, 2012! xoxo My first experience with Fashion's Night Out Dallas was a blast! I spent the evening with one of my best girlfriends - sipping prosecco, snacking on sweets, and enjoying a night completely dedicated to fashion.
We started the evening at Elements for a little pre-party - trying cocktails from Urban Taco, munching on mini grilled cheese sandwiches and tiny cheeseburgers, and of course walking around the boutique! Then we headed to NorthPark's Neiman Marcus for a giant celebration of fashion. There were so many things going on - trunk shows, makeovers, lip print readings, FNO flip books, cigar rolling & whiskey tasting for the men, individual prosecco bottles to sip on, little bags of popcorn (courtesy of Uptown Popcorn), and an abundance of gloriously beautiful people wearing some of the most fabulous fashion finds. However, it was the sweet stations on level three that completely distracted me from the fashion focus. I fell madly in love with Trailer Cake cupcakes, who have the most absurdly good cupcakes I've ever tasted. I went home with a little bag of goodies and a new bottle of perfume! xoxo Look what I stumbled upon on ShopTalk today - Dallas' Fashion's Night Out! A night completed and utterly dedicated to fashion! I was completely oblivious to the existence of this extravaganza - and now I am dying to go. Honestly, who could resit this super chic soiree? So mark your calenders for Thursday, September 6th and be sure to check out ShopTalk's guide to Fashion's Night Out in Dallas!
Below are some looks I'm loving right now. xoxo I love Dallas. It is full of art, modernism, history, fashion, and great food. When planning my wedding I discovered a new side of Dallas that was exciting and refreshing.
