Happy Anniversary loves!
This Sunday is extra special because I've got a fabulous and super special post for y'all this morning - my very first wedding feature! This amazing DIY affair is incredibly near and dear to me, because the oh so beautiful bride just happens to be one of my all time favorite people in the world. I've known Sadaf for over ten years and I can honestly say I wouldn't be the person I am without her love and guidance. So, it goes without saying that it was an incredible honor to stand next to her on her wedding day. Now, I might be a tad biased - but this wedding was beyond GORGEOUS! Every little detail, every paper flower, even the tiny red and orange confetti was carefully designed by Sadaf and Matthew. Talk about a labor of love! Today they are celebrating their one year anniversary and moving into their new little home. I couldn't be happier for them!
Happy Anniversary loves!
From the Bride... It was really important for Matthew and I to have a wedding that reflected who we truly were, trendy, creative and laid back. We both love origami and thought it would be cool to incorporate paper products as our wedding theme and boy did we run with it! We made paper flowers, bouquets, boutonnieres, candle lanterns, and more! We chose to have the bridesmaids in short dresses and the groomsmen without jackets to again set the stage for a more informal event. The ceremony included American tradition where we wrote our own vows and an Iranian Aghd. The reception was cocktail party style with hor dourves drinks, desserts and dancing! We're big foodies and love to cook so we baked our own dessert bar with the exception of the pink champagne cake.
Last night I stumbled across this super sweet message from my amazing wedding florist, Debby Jewesson:
"Oh how I just loved Arianna Glanville! She was so much fun to work with and just wait until you see all the details she put together for her big day at The Stoneleigh Hotel! Congrats Arianna and Mark! And FAB picts K Coburn! "
I just love her and I want to shout it from the mountain tops! As a member of Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book, Debby and her crazy talented team at Branching out Floral and Event Design are behind some of the loveliest weddings in all of Dallas. Debby is a complete genius, and within minutes of meeting her, I was hooked. Her genuine personality encompassed everything I wanted in a vendor. It was simply effortless to work with her. I have a strong affinity for flowers, and I knew without a doubt I wanted an abundance at my wedding. Debby saw my vision and made it come alive. To this today I can't believe how lucky I am that I can say she was the florist at my wedding.
On my wedding day, I got to have a sneak peak of the cake base Debby and her team created using a plethora of gorgeous pink blooms, it was stunning. However, my all time favorite (pre-wedding) moment was when I got to hold my wedding bouquet. I had asked Debby for a mammoth array of white peonies, and she absolutely delivered. It was beyond gorgeous, it was a dream come true. Truly all of the floral creations at my wedding were pure perfection and beyond fabulous. Each bloom was ridiculously succulent and my heart was bursting with happiness. I can't wait to share all the delicious details with y'all later!
For as long as I can remember, pink has been my favorite color. When I was in middle school, I claimed "Pink" by Aerosmith as my theme song, completely oblivious to what the lyrics actually meant. When I got engaged I knew instantly that it would be part of my wedding palette. When I stumbled across this photo shoot I was completely enamored by the lavender and pink color combination. So, I chose Lavender + Pink as my blog title; it represents me, my wedding, and let's be honest, it sounds pretty.
Originally I wanted a blog dedicated purely to Texas weddings. However, after moving to downtown Dallas I was determined to share all things I love about the city. Since this is my personal blog I decided to keep the name I orginally picked - Lavender + Pink.
Below are some of my favorite shots from the Metropolitan Building Photo Shoot by Jill La Fleur + CLY Creation, featured on Style Me Pretty.
